The Latest from RasslinRiotOnline...

Opening Contest

Steven Rampage def. Cody Moore via pinfall in just over 4 minutes after Rampage got his feet on the ropes to secure the win.

Second Contest

Baron Malkavain def. Dell Tucker and Rockin Randy in a Triple Threat Match via pinfall in 7 minutes after Baron hit the Devil' Wings from the middle rope on Rockin Randy and crashed Randy's body on top of Dell Tucker's body. Baron's winning streak in MAW continues after this win.

Before we could move on to our next match, Reno Diamond and Derrick King made their way out. King carried the MAW Heavyweight Title, though he isn't the champion. Reno and King decided to berate the crowd with insults and make a point that they know Jerry Lynn isn't going to be there. KC Gold, Johnny Morton, and Chris Lexx make their way out to confront them. Derrick makes more of the point about Lynn when he doesn't come out with them. As Morton and Lexx talk back and forth with them in the ring, KC gets a phone call and makes his way to the back. After a few minutes, KC comes out and lets Derrick and Reno know that Jerry Lynn is 20 minutes away and to lace them up tight because he would be ready for them.

Third Contest | Falls Count Anywhere

Dre Black def. Danny B Good via DQ in about 6 minutes after Dre through our Referee Robert in the way of a "Revolution". After Danny fought back and tried to make the pin, it appeared the referee was about to make the count until he called for the bell and told Danny he was disqualified. The fight between these two men is far from over.

Fourth Contest | Street Fight II

Armageddon def. Big Country via pinfall after 10 minutes of brawling. Big Country was busted open hard with a Stop sign attached to a 2x4 and just never recovered from it. After the match, Armageddon decided to sitout chokeslam on the referee and before he could go after anyone else, it was KC Gold getting his big man under control to head to the back. Big Country, still dazed and out of it, made yet another challenge to Armageddon, seeking a 4 Corners of Pain match. More details on that later on mawmemphis.com

In what was suppose to be our intermission, Jason Richards, Marcus O'Neil, Antoin Smooth, and Ms. Nikki made their way out to the announce table and challenged special guest commentator Carnage Antwane to a match. Jason is seeking his third straight victory over Carnage, as Jason has always had the help to beat him. A referee came out and one big boot later in 7 seconds, Carnage Antwane def. Jason Richards. Marcus O'Neil then made the challenge after that, but the match never got under way as The Crime and Jeremy Killz rushed the ring and all ganged up on Carnage. Bishop made his way to the ring and scared away all, but Crime and Marcus. Bishop hit the spear on Marcus and then on Crime. Bishop and Carnage have seen eye to eye, but tonight, Bishop shook the hand of Carnage. Carnage then made his way back to the table to continue the evening.

Fifth Match

The Golden Boy Greg Anthony def. Flash Flannigan via pinfall after 11 minutes of action after using a foreign object cupped in his hand. At the end of the match, TGB brought a chair into the ring, but was quickly disarmed by Flash. Flash, in a fit of rage, looked to use the chair to his advantage. The referee took the chair and as he discarded it, TGB was able to use an object in his tights, hit Flash, and get the pinfall victory.

Sixth Match | MAW Southern Championship

Chris Lexx def. Precious to retain the MAW Southern Championship in a long, hard fought contest. These two men brought everything they had to the ring and left it there when all was said and done. Precious, along with his manager Mr. L, did everything in their power to keep Chris Lexx grounded, but it was the quick elbow drop from the top rope that secured the victory for TFO's Chris Lexx.

Main Event

After everyone minus Lynn made their way to the ring, Derrick made it a point once again to show that he was right about what he said. KC Gold got on the mic and let Derrick know that he is wrong. At this point, Jerry Lynn makes his way out and after a few moments slapping the hands of some eager fans, it was time for action.

Johnny Morton and Jerry Lynn def. Reno Diamond and Derrick King via pinfall to pick up the victory after Chris Lexx came in and hit the Lexxicution on Derrick King!. Johnny Morton made the pinfall as Jerry Lynn launched an aerial assault to the outside to Reno Diamond. After the bell rung, a man ran from the back and jumped Johnny Morton and Chris Lexx. Lynn was left on the outside as Derrick, Reno, and this unknown man beat up on Lexx and Morton. Lynn got a chair and made the save. As Derrick and company took the mic, it was made aware to everyone in the Daisy that there just isn't a wrestling show without a Shawn Shultz promo. Shawn introduced himself and after few moments of back and forth on the mic, KC Gold made two matches for September's "Memphis 10" event at the New Daisy. It would be Derrick King and Shawn Shultz taking on Johnny Morton and Chris Lexx and Reno Diamond would have a one on one match with Jerry Lynn!

More On Kaz/TNA Inside

By Ryan Clark | July 23, 2008

To put the speculation to rest, Frankie "Kaz" Kazarian's apparent departure from TNA is indeed a storyline/angle. He's really not leaving TNA, despite the announcement they put up on the company website. To play up the storyline, his profile has been removed from the website.

Remember This Guy?

from Straight Cash Homey Dot Net

Brock Lesnar, Minnesota Vikings: When most people say the Vikings are only “one piece away,” they’re thinking of Brett Favre. This guy’s thinking of someone with suplexing ability. Which could also be Brett Favre, but he means Brock Lesnar. (Found by Anthony at WWE’s Great American Bash.)

For those who have asked, there is currently an on again/off again real-life relationship between John Cena and Mickie James. The two are dating and the storyline used on TV was a small rib on the two but has since been scrapped.

WWEShop.com's currently holding a contest for fans to win some prizes such as a laptop computer, a Playstation 3 package, the SummerSlam Anthology set, a $250 WWE Shop gift certificate, and more. In the sign-up form, they ask you to choose your favorite WWE Superstar. It's a drop down list featuring every Superstar on the roster, including the names of two wrestlers that have yet to debut on television.

When Ron Killings makes his television debut, his name will apparently be "R-Truth." That name is listed in the drop down menu. The menu also lists a wrestler that has yet to even work a house show or dark match.

The drop down menu lists a wrestler by the name of Tyrone Evans, who is a developmental wrestler in Florida Championship Wrestling. WWE signed Evans to a contract earlier in the year. They're also listing the latest additions to the main roster including Brian Kendrick's bodyguard Ezekiel, Braden Walker, Ricky Ortiz, and Theodore Long's assistant Tiffany. The list also features Drew McIntyre & James Curtis, who aren't apart of the main roster, and Ashley Massaro, who recently parted ways with WWE. Both Highlanders are also listed twice by accident.

USWA

Jeff Jarrett & Robert Fuller beat The Texas Hangmen on 5/13 in Memphis to win the USWA tag titles. Also Bill Dundee won the Southern title the same night beating Eric Embry. Both matches were billed as losers leave the USWA. .

5/17 at the Dallas Sportatorium drew 230 fans as Tom Prichard pinned Mascara del Fuego, Jeff Jarrett pinned El Grande Pistolero, Tojo Yamamoto (63 years old) & Little Tokyo beat Danny Davis & Karate Kid, Bill Dundee beat Boogie Man, Robert Fuller & Jeff Jarrett beat Eric Embry & Tom Prichard in a tornado match but after the match The Texas Hangmen attacked Jarrett & Fuller, Sweet Georgia Brown pinned Madeline Collins, Karate Kid pinned Little Tokyo but after the match Embry & Prichard beat up the midget until Fuller & Jarrett made the save and the finale saw Gary Young & Terry Daniels beat Hangmen via DQ when J.C. Ice Baby interfered.

5/24 has Eddie Gilbert & Dundee vs. Tony Anthony & Boogie Man, Dundee vs. Embry in a cage match, Fuller & Jarrett vs. Prichard & Embry in a cage match (that's right, Embry is in two cage matches on this show), Sweet Georgia Brown vs. Sweet Sherri and El Grande Pistolero vs. Hurricane Walker from Florida.

Only news I've got this week from Memphis is the results of the 5/13 card that drew about 730 fans as Little Tokyo & Tojo beat Davis & Karate Kid, Eddie Gilbert no contest Anthony, Sweet Georgia Brown beat Uptown Bruno in a loser leaves town match, Prichard beat Steve Keirn in a loser leaves town match, Jarrett & Fuller beat Hangmen in a loser leaves town match to win the tag team titles and Bill Dundee beat Embry to win the Southern title in a loser leaves town match.

Don't even know how they had a card on 5/20 in Memphis if Embry wasn't around, because of late he's been in at least two or three main events per show.

Danny Davis is on his way out.

A correction from last week in the angle involving Uptown Bruno and Sweet Georgia Brown. Bruno never kissed Brown, just gave her a light hug.

A scheduled appearance by Tammy “Sunny” Sytch is one of the highlights of Maryland Championship Wrestling’s Shamrock Cup tonight at The New Green Room in Dundalk.

The former WWE diva will be participating in a meet and greet before the show along with Balls Mahoney, Steve Corino and more.

The first round of the Shamrock Cup features a match between Joey Matthews (formerly Joey Mercury of MNM) and Ruckus. Also participating in the tournament tonight are former WCW star Crowbar, Ring of Honor’s Claudio Castagnoli and Delirious and others.

In addition to the tournament, MCW champion Christian York defends against Adam Flash in a two-out-of-three falls match, with Corino as the special guest referee. The first fall is “I quit” rules, followed by last man standing and then a chain match if there is a third fall. There also will be a ladder match for the MCW tag-team title pitting champions The Ghetto Mafia against Ryan McBride and Teddy Stigma.

From what my sources tell me, there also will be a new referee on the card tonight who looks exactly like me.

The Shamrock Cup concludes tomorrow night, and former WWE champion and You Tube star The Iron Sheik will participate in a Q&A in the afternoon. Now that should really be something.

For more information on the MCW shows, go to marylandwrestling.com.

Mid-South Wrestling

Bill Watts Mid-South Wrestling

This video has an Interview with The Rock & Roll Express(Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson). They talk about an upcoming match vs The Guerreros(Chavo & Hector). They also put over the Mid-South promotion and the Tag-Team titles. Good interview.

Ted Dibiase challenges Hacksaw Jim Duggan to a Best Dressed Man Contest. (If you watched RAW this week you saw Dibiase Jr. and Cody Rhodes confronted by Duggan, then Dibiase Jr. belittles Duggan, wonder if you'll ever see Ted back in WWE with Duggan to face Jr. adnd Cody?) Hacksaw gets the fans approval for the win. Dibiase was not satisfied and demanded a rematch next week using an electrionic applause meter. Dibiase was great on the mic.

The Dirty White Boys(Tony Anthony & Len "The Grappler" Denton) put Mid-South Wrestling on notice that they want a shot at the Tag-Team Titles. The Dirty White Boys were on of my favorites. It's amazing how alot of the ideas came from popular music of that era. Dirty White Boys was a song by Foreinger. As a kid I didn't know who Len Denton was, but he was a solid wrestler as well as good onhe the mic.

Bill Watts states that Terry Taylor(Champion) did not have to defend the title today vs Jake Roberts. Jake Roberts in the ring, upset, demands Terry Taylor. Brad Armstrong enters the ring and challenges Roberts. Good segment. Roberts was gold on the mic.

They really knew how to build things up back in the day.

Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw will be held at the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is the first time Raw has been to the venue to a little over two years. John Cena, Batista, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, JBL, CM Punk, and Kane are all being advertised locally to appear and as of this writing, tickets in the lower levels still remain available.

No matches have been announced for the show but there are rumors that Ric Flair will make an appearance. I’m told that it is likely his appearance will be just for the fans in attendance and not on television, but it will all depend on how the production goes. Jerry Lawler is also said to be bruised from taking Kane’s fist to the face on last week’s Raw.

After humble beginnings, Ring Of Honor Wrestling quickly escalated into what many people believe to be the best wrestling promotion alive today. Breeding their own young crop of talent, and focusing on the in-ring work more-so then the glitz and glamour that other major companies such as the WWE focus on, ROH is the definition of Indy Wrestling.

When ECW went out of business, RF Video (a wrestling video distribution company) needed a promotion that could fill the huge void. ROH was established and, following ECW's footsteps, it offered a fresh new look on the pro-wrestling scene. It's first ever show, titled 'The Era Of Honor Begins', in 2002 became an instant classic, and some of the matches featured at the event will be remembered by wrestling fans forever.

Some of the biggest names in wrestling today were brought up in ROH. Guys like CM Punk, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels (aka Curry Man) all have roots leading back to the early days of ROH. And despite the fact that some of the bigger names have moved on to other promotions, ROH continues to breed their own talent. Guys like Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuinness, and Tyler Black now grace the red and black ring, and are regarded as some of the best entertainers in the world.

So finally, after five years since it's inaugural debut, ROH will make it's Canadian debut when it hits Toronto on July 25th. The main event will feature the current reigning ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness defending against Canadian favorite Kevin Steen. A second show is planned for Montreal on November 5th. Both shows promise to be slobberknockers.

ROH Wrestling is regarded by many people to be the best pro-wrestling company going on today, and it will just be a matter of time until ROH will be able to challenge WWE and TNA. History will be made when ROH finally comes to Canada. Don't miss out.

Skandor Akbar • Mid-South Wrestling

Then: Akbar (alias Jim Wehba) was the baddest cad around when Mid-South Wrestling ruled these parts. He was a good guy when he launched his career in the 1960s, then he betrayed Danny Hodge and became public enemy No. 1, a flame-throwing “sheik” who played the villain’s role to the hilt.

Being a heel was serious business. Rabid fans cut Akbar’s car tires and broke his windows. Before a New Orleans gig, he received so many death threats that he wore a bulletproof vest when entering the Superdome. “The last 45 years, I got blamed for everything that happened in the Middle East,” said Akbar, who is of Syrian and Lebanese descent.

Now: Akbar, 73, said he loved living in Tulsa at various times during his career as a wrestler and manager. He settled in his home state of Texas (he lives in Garland) and has trained budding wrestlers.

Nostalgia is in vogue, so Akbar often gets asked to make public appearances. Said Akbar, “A lot of people tell me ‘I hated you so much, but I loved every minute of it.’ÿ” Akbar said he never cussed at fans or spat at them when leaving arenas. He just ignored them. That just made them madder.

Akbar doesn’t think he is a bad guy in real life and indicated he has a soft spot for animals. He wonders what fans would think if they could hear him sweet-talk his critters, including Brigitte (named after Bardot), a dog who will be 16 in August. He has had better luck with dogs than wives. One wife died, and he has been through a few others. “This business, it wasn’t really good on marriages.”

But Akbar said he owes everything he has to the wrestling biz. Asked whether it was fun to be a bad guy, Akbar said: “You can get away with a lot of things. The good guys, a lot of them really didn’t like to sign all those autographs. I teased them about it.” Akbar said he just tore up anything fans wanted him to sign. What else would you expect from a good bad guy?

USWA

The title change from two weeks back where Jerry Lawler beat Eric Embry for the Texas title has been overruled since the win was gained with outside interference so Embry holds both the Texas and the Southern titles. They are recognizing Embry's win over Jeff Jarrett on 5/3 in Dallas in both Texas and Tennessee, although in Tennessee they said the match took place on 5/10 in Dallas.

What did take place on 5/10 in Dallas before 391 fans saw Danny Davis beat El Gran Colosso to keep the lightheavyweight title, Chaz the Wild thing (son of Tug Taylor, a prelim wrestler out of Houston who drove the women crazy) beat Dr. Foo (a Killer Brooks trainee), Little Tokyo pinned Karate Kid when Tojo Yamamoto threw salt in Karate Kid's eyes, Bill Dundee pinned Boogie Man, Terry Daniels pinned Dog of War, Gary Young pinned El Grande Pistolero, Jeff Jarrett & Robert Fuller beat Embry & Tom Prichard via DQ in a major bloodbath which ended when the heels handcuffed Jarrett to the ring ropes and pulled out a plastic bag and tried to suffocate Fuller. In this case, they went all the way as they left Fuller laying there and Gary Young had to administer CPR to bring him back to life. The main event was a Texas Roundup Battle Royal (similar to Royal Rumble rules) with Dundee throwing out Pistolero & Dog of War to win. The revived Fuller managed to work the Battle Royal but he, Jarrett, Embry and Prichard all brawled out of the Battle Royal and into the dressing room.

Prichard had one of the best lines on TV here in a while when he was talking about the midget Little Tokyo. Prichard said he remembered that he held the world midgets title for a long time and he remembered when he won the title from Bill Dundee.

Gary Hart's promotion has officially folded and its television show in Texas has been replaced by the LPWA.

The 5/3 show, which drew 918 fans at $5 per head, got some of the local wrestlers upset because most of the payoffs were in the $40 range. At least one wrestler (Terry Garvin), quit over his payoff.

They did a spot show on 5/11 in Magnolia, TX before 100 fans as Prichard beat Jarrett when Boogie Man interfered but in the main event Jarrett & Davis & Colosso beat Prichard & Boogie Man & Black Angel (Tony Falk under a hood). Downtown Bruno worked as the referee on the show.

5/17 in Dallas has Sweet Georgia Brown vs. Madeline Collins for the Texas women's title, Davis & Karate Kid vs. Tojo & Little Tokyo (this will be the first mixed match in which the regular wrestlers and the midget wrestlers are the same size), Texas Hangmen defend the USWA tag titles against Daniels & Young, Dundee vs. Boogie Man and in a tornado match, Jarrett & Fuller vs. Embry & Prichard.

5/6 in Memphis drew 700 as Little Tokyo beat Karate Kid when Tojo threw salt, Dundee beat Hangman Killer to earn five minutes with his son J.C. Ice Baby and Dundee was beating on him for three minutes when Ice Baby ran off for the count out, Steve Keirn pinned Jeff Gaylord, Fuller & Davis beat Hangman Psycho & Prichard but after the match both Hangmen hung Fuller over the top rope, Eddie Gilbert beat Embry via DQ in a match where both men wore gloves with barbed wire on them when Tony Anthony interfered and attacked Gilbert (which at least should guarantee one good match per show), Keirn beat Embry via DQ in a Lights Out match and Keirn & Fuller & Dundee & Davis beat Embry & Prichard & Hangmen.

5/13 in Memphis has Karate Kid & Davis vs. Tojo & Tokyo, Gilbert vs. Anthony, Uptown Bruno vs. Miss Texas (Sweet Georgia Brown), Keirn vs. Prichard with no DQ and no time limit, Hangmen defend against Jarrett & Fuller, Embry defends the Southern title against Dundee. Bruno-Texas, Keirn-Prichard, Hangmen vs. Jarrett & Fuller and Embry-Dundee are all loser leaves the USWA for 30 days. The guess from here is that Bruno will lose, since Georgia Brown has just started as Embry's valet, Keirn will lose, Hangmen will lose and somehow Dundee will lose but turn heel and get to stay.

Dundee said he had a long talk during the week with his son and would have a major announcement on television on 5/19. He's also changed his wardrobe to give one the impression he's about to turn.

Embry claimed on television that he's retired Jerry Lawler. He then went on about their being five legends in the Memphis area, Jackie Fargo, who he claims to have run out, Jerry Jarrett, who is retired, Tojo, who is his manager, Lawler, who he claims to have ran out, and now he's going to finish things off by finishing up Dundee.

On television on 5/12, Gilbert & Ben Jordan & Karate Kid beat Hangmen & Little Tokyo when Anthony interfered for the DQ.

They ran two angles involving Bruno and Georgia Brown. In the first one, Bruno said he was going to show Georgia Brown how they treat women where he comes from, and instead of punching her, he kissed her (think about that one for a while). Later in the show Brown threw Bruno over a desk and hit him with the ring bell.

We don't want you to miss out on what could be the best bout of our Hustlin' Rollers season, so let us reiterate... Tragic City will be brangin' the heat this Saturday night to the Mid-South Fairgrounds, where us (your home team) will be forced to put an ass whoopin' on Alabama... Tennessee style!

Just two weeks after a hard fought loss in their home town, the Tragic City Rollers of Birmingham, AL are coming to Memphis to try and steal a victory from the Hustlin' Rollers.

Can the lightning-quick Schnott Nose Kid and her Birmingham mates continue their reputation as being one of the best teams in the south, or will Lil' Cinner and the bone-shattering crew from Memphis continue their streak with another "W?"

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

So bring ya ass to the Youth Building at the Mid-South Fairgrounds, aka the House of Bruise on Saturday night. Grab a beer or ten, scream your face off for the home team... and just have a good time.

And to fuel the spirit of the Memphis team, show up with your loudest bell of choice (cowbells work real good).

Ring 'em loud and proud for your Memphis Hustlin' Rollers!

For tickets and information, please visit: Memphis Roller Derby. com
You can buy your tickets ONLINE, or at the DOOR.
